Mana takes a major step in energy transition with the commissioning of four photovoltaic power plants
On 2025, the municipality of Mana in French Guiana, took a major step forward in its energy strategy with the simultaneous commissioning of four photovoltaic power plants installed on public buildings. This ambitious project reflects the municipality’s commitment to promoting renewable energy while making smart use of its existing infrastructure.
Solar installations at the heart of community life
The new solar plants have been installed on the rooftops of three schools — Man Tina, Marchadour, and Tchi Tsou — as well as on the municipal lodge and the stadium stands. These sites, central to the everyday lives of residents, now also serve as key contributors to the local energy transition.
Efficient and locally adapted solar systems
Each plant is equipped with photovoltaic panels, delivering a capacity close to 100 kWp, in line with current energy performance standards. Here are the main features of each installation:
- Man Tina School : 288 panels – 99.36 kWp
- Marchadour School : 287 panels – 99.015 kWp
- Tchi Tsou School : 289 panels – 99.705 kWp
- Municipal lodge and stadium stands : 287 panels – 99.015 kWp

A concrete commitment to a sustainable future
Through these projects, the municipality of Mana strengthens its energy autonomy and contributes actively to the fight against climate change. These plants not only generate green electricity but also help raise awareness among younger generations about ecological responsibility.
