Galion 2: inflating the storage dome
A biomass storage dome has been erected on the Hydrobase quay at the port of Fort-de-France, as part of the Galion 2 power plant project.
This modern-design structure will be used to store certified wood pellets, imported from the United States, pending their shipment to the power plant.
This dome, complying with earthquake and cyclone resistant standards, will provide for the safe temporary storage of biomass. Its installation called for innovative techniques for the rapid erection of the dome’s outer structure.
